Wasn’t it amazing to watch/hear young Amanda Gorman recite her poem for the Presidential Inauguration? Amanda became the first Youth Poet Laureate in 2017, and has been reciting and reading her activist poetry in prominent places ever since. At 22, she is the youngest poet to have performed at an inauguration, her biggest honor yet. Amanda continues to encourage literacy and creative writing through her nonprofit organization One Pen One Page, which runs a youth writing and leadership program.
